The 5th National Symposium on Metallic Seismic Energy Dissipation Technology

From November 22nd to 24th, the 5th National Symposium on Metallic Seismic Energy Dissipation Technology was grandly held in Changsha. The symposium was organized by Tongji University, Hunan University, and the Technical Promotion Committee for Earthquake Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Engineering of the China Civil Engineering Society, hosted by units including the Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory of Wind Engineering and Bridge Engineering at Hunan University, and co-organized by companies including Wuhan Newtery Engineering Technology Co., Ltd.

The event was attended by representatives from 73 institutions, including prestigious universities such as Tongji University, Central South University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, South China University of Technology, Beijing Jiaotong University and Guangzhou University, as well as engineering enterprises and research institutes like China National Machinery Industry Corporation, China Academy of Building Research, East China Architectural Design & Research Institute, Beijing Institute of Architectural Design, China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group, China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute Group, China Electric Power Research Institute and China Large Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd. In total, more than 230 delegates participated in the symposium, including academicians, Changjiang Scholars Distinguished Professors, recipients of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, leading talents of the Ten-Thousand Talents Program and recipients of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars. All participants gathered together to contribute their insights and suggestions to the development of China's seismic isolation and energy dissipation industry.

This symposium strengthened academic exchanges among domestic universities, engineering enterprises, and research institutes, allowing for the full exchange and sharing of research findings and promoting the development and application of metallic seismic energy dissipation technology.
