Cable Vibration Control

Under wind loads, the cables of cable-stayed bridges are highly prone to vibration. If not controlled, this can severely shorten the service life of the cables. Damaged cables also pose a significant safety risk to the bridge structure.

Scheme Overview

A lever-type cable damper is employed, which amplifies the cable’s vibration amplitude before applying damping, thereby improving vibration suppression efficiency. This approach offers particularly high sensitivity to slight cable vibrations. It addresses issues such as wind-induced vibration and rain-wind induced vibration of cables, extending their service life. The core advantage lies in the amplification of vibration amplitude, which enhances vibration reduction sensitivity and delivers more pronounced vibration suppression for slight oscillations.
