From a junior technician new to the industry to a chief engineer who capably manages her main domain, Yan Leilei has embarked on a 16-year growth journey at Newtery. As Newtery's Chief Engineer, she takes full responsibility for the planning and development of the technical system, the verification and technical breakthroughs of major project solutions, the cultivation and management of the technical team, and the continuous promotion of technological innovation and the commercialization of research achievements. With perseverance and innovation, she has transformed from a ‘technical elite’ to a ‘management backbone’.

During this period, she has led her team to accomplish technical breakthroughs and scheme design for multiple key projects, and promoted the implementation of a series of technological innovations and achievements. In total, she has contributed to obtaining 65 national patents, more than 20 provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological achievements, participated in the formulation of 8 industry standards, and won 3 provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological awards.

She positions technology as the ‘engine’ and ‘guardian’ of the company's core competitiveness: forecasting industry trends through technical pre-research to support market expansion; ensuring that the technical solution for each project is optimal, risk-controllable and of high quality; and building long-term competitive advantages by continuously accumulating technical assets.

In terms of team building, she implements the strategy of "teaching students in accordance with their aptitude and empowering them at different levels" and fosters a team culture of "being rigorous and pragmatic, open and collaborative". In cross-departmental collaboration, she adheres to the principle of "aligned goals and mutual understanding", makes good use of data to resolve differences, and gathers development momentum through collaboration.

Looking to the future, she points out that the technical team should focus on three major directions: deepening the capabilities in intelligent solutions and full-lifecycle services, expanding the boundaries of high-performance and low-carbon technologies, and building systematic solution packages. By seizing policy opportunities such as the ‘Transportation Power’ initiative, the team will promote forward-looking R&D and cooperation, translate macro-opportunities into concrete technological and product advantages, and help the company achieve steady and long-term development amid industry transformation.

As 2026 arrives, she and her team will focus on the construction of the Technology R&D Center and the development of new products. Taking the technology center as the core platform, they aim to break through key technical bottlenecks, develop new products, solidly advance the implementation of the technology roadmap, laying a solid foundation for the company's long-term development.
