Product Introduction

The Incremental Launching Closure Control Damper is a multifunctional damper developed by Wuhan Newtery on the basis of viscous dampers, specially designed for precise closure control of bridges. It integrates multiple functions including horizontal limiting, incremental launching control, and vibration and shock absorption.

Conventional closure construction of cable-stayed bridges is generally carried out at night to facilitate the control of closure gap width. By adopting the Incremental Launching Closure Control Damper, the all-weather 24-hour closure construction of cable-stayed bridges can be realized at any time period. It enables precise control over the closure gap width, achieving true millimeter-level accuracy.

Project Reference

At around 11:00 a.m. on May 30, 2019, the successful closure of the Jiayu Yangtze River Bridge was accomplished. The bridge adopted the single-side hoisting and incremental launching construction technology, with precise control realized by the Incremental Launching Closure Control Damper. During the critical 30-minute operation period from steel Girder hoisting to welding completion, the closure matching accuracy was stably controlled within the range of 20±1mm, successfully achieving the millimeter-level "all-weather closure" target of the bridge, which fully demonstrated the high-precision control capability of the engineering technology.

After the completion of bridge closure operation, the Incremental Launching Closure Control Damper continues to function, switching to the working state of viscous damper. It now serves long-term within the bridge structure's vibration control system, effectively resisting external actions such as seismic and wind loads, providing reliable assurance for the structural safety during the bridge's operational phase.
