Multifunctional Damper
Product Introduction
The Multifunctional Damper is a novel type of damper that integrates a fuse protection mechanism with damping and vibration reduction functions. Under conventional loads such as wind-induced vibrations, braking loads, or moderate earthquakes, it behaves approximately like a rigid link, providing restraint to the structure. When subjected to strong winds, major earthquakes, or loads exceeding a specific critical threshold, the fuse within the multifunctional damper disengages, transitioning its function from a rigid link to that of a conventional damper, thereby activating its energy dissipation and shock absorption capabilities.
Advantages and Features
-
Damper and Fuse Device in Series
The damper is connected in series with a fuse device, with the configuration tailored to meet different structural performance requirements for E1 (service-level) and E2 (maximum considered) earthquakes.
-
Structural Safety
It provides phased functionality—restraint under normal conditions, load release upon overload, and energy dissipation during seismic events—effectively protecting structural safety.
-
Low Maintenance Cost
The fuse employs a hydraulic mechanism that allows for self-recovery after activation, eliminating the need for replacement and resulting in low maintenance costs.
